I woke up, from the strangest dream 

Could not be sure how long I’d been sleeping

I felt there must be some kind of meaning

I mean it left me with such an empty feeling

All day long it kept bothering me

What the meaning of this dream could be

Then it struck me like suddenly 

I could feel this hole in me

 

We were in that old house that old place

Where you grew up and where we once played

All the toys were cleared away

And the darkness of night eclipsed the light of day

 

And now I know, thru that dream I see

It was always you, and will always be
