PHOENIX ROAD

INVISIBLE MAN

I was cold and tired I slept in a doorway

A lost soul, who’d been there another day

Had carved out his name there on the wall

Is that all that’s left of that man?

Well I can understand

Now nobody knows where I am ( I am)

When dawn broke I woke but kept dreaming

And no one who passed heard me screaming

No one it seemed could see me at all

Well I walked around thru that strange town

My feet never touched the ground

And nobody knows who I am

I am - I am - I am the invisible man

When I look down I can’t see my own hand

I pass by a mirror and there’s nothing to see

Only a shadow where a face ought to be

Now Old Man Winter is blowing

And I should really be going

Back to the city where I was born

Maybe in that place I'll find a space

And learn to live again

Maybe my bridges are too burnt to mend

I am - I am - I am the invisible man

When I look down I can’t see my own hand

Sometimes I wonder: is it me here at all?

And who's was that name that I saw on the wall
